Second Tattoo

So I got my second tattoo today, my rats paw prints on my left hand

It was 75$ and only took 20 minutes.
I was nervous at first because it's been almost two years since my last tattoo and I had a hard time remembering how it felt.
I was relived when he started because it didn't hurt much.
The one on my wrist hurt the most because it felt like he was scraping bone.
They are in order:
Lucy's paw print is close to my knuckle, Curri's is the smeary one, and Melinda's is on my wrist.
I got them in the order that they passed away, and since Melinda is still with me she'll be the last of the three to pass on.

I brought in the sheets I made with their paw prints on them back in May of last year when I thought Lucy might have cancer and have to be put down.
I put a small dap of red ink from those washable ink pads and put it on their feet and placed them on the paper.
So Tim Beck (the artist) put all the little imperfections like the smears that the girls left on the paper around the print I chose for each one.

It turned out better than I had even expected, I am so happy with it!

Rat Breeders & Roller Derby Swaps

I have been looking at rat breeders in California (since that is where we would LOVE to move), and I want to get more rats but I want to wait till we've moved to wherever for art school and are settled in. However, this is one really awesome rattery in San Diego, CA.
Ratty Rat Rattery
I want to get rats from a breeder to 1. have them from a really young age, 2. hopefully end up with rats with longer life spans & better health.
Really good breeders breed for longevity in their rats and reduced health issues.

On another note, we have been given our craftster Derby swap partners!
I am partnered with Aerial Onslaught F#14 from Emerald Coast Roller Derby.
I get giddy whenever I think about meeting/conversing/knowing other roller derby girls from different leagues.
I'm so excited to get started with this, when I was reading her questionnaire I had a moment where I was like: This was meant to be!
We had a lot of the same answers and were looking to spoil our partners, aaand her league colors happen to fit into the color scheme I was hoping to use for the items i'm going to make.
Score!
I'm also excited that her league is up and coming, considering that my league is getting ready to hit our one year status rather soon.(march 2nd, 2011)
I'll post pictures when I get the supplies, but no more photos till I send them!
Did I mention that I was excited about this?

And another thing, I have a muscle sprain in my right oblique from coughing. Yes, you heard me correct COUGHING! I was doing better yesterday and then I went into a coughing fit and *pop*[this was an audible pop] I am now in more pain than before.
So, i'm icing it and putting on icy hot.
Please get better side, *pat pat*

Also, I might get a Deathhawk sometime this year.
I think that earns me some extra badass points.
I'm thinking teal with purple tips.
Nothing better than league spirit!

Art School Hubbub

I took Melinda to the vet this morning to get X-rays.
I wanted to make sure she didn't have any upper respiratory problems from Curri, since that is what took hold of her.
She came back with a clean bill of health, which is great!

I've been looking up art schools again, after starting my FAFSA 2011-2012.
I have to get that finished here within the month, and set up an appointment for Alec to meet with financial aid.
He might be able to become a full time student next semester.
Here within the next two weeks i'm supposed to get my grant money in the mail.
I've been filling out my scholarship info for my last ICC semester,
Current Stats:
GPA: 3.268 (3.3)
Credits: 49.00
I'd like to get to a 3.4, without rounding, by the end of next spring, since that is when I graduate.

Alec and I are hoping to graduate by the end of spring 2012, so that fall of 2012 we can attend a four year art school somewhere.
This is where my art school searches come in.

Schools:
*The average financial aid package leaves about 10k for out of pocket loans. In an almost ideal situation.

I've looked at some others out west but i'm not sold on any yet, i'd like to be though.

Alec's possible Valentines Gifts:
$30.32

$25.51
