Life and all that bullshit

Well, i've got an interview May 4th at The Studio for the Fall.
I got the internship this summer at Lakeview Museum.
I got voted 'most improved' for Roller Derby,
And I made a kickass art piece in charcoal.
I need to get a portfolio together as well as, enough art for a show in the Fall.
We have our open skate May 2nd, this coming Sunday. Beltane is Saturday.
I'm almost done with school this semester, Last day is May 11th, Then finals.
I saw KickAss! it was really good.
I have to call One World about an art show next year.
I might be going to an ARRG bout May 8th, next Saturday, in St. Louis.
We have our May meeting for Roller Derby this Monday.
I need to take my rats to the vet for a checkup and clean my room.
I'm going to be buying a new set of quad skates from eBay for my outdoor wheels.
I want to be so much better already!!
I'm going to be spending a lot of time making art, playing roller derby, hanging out with Alec, and working.
Having a real life feels good.

Yesterday's Assessment

So, yesterday was assessment day for roller derby.
I did a lot better than before but my time was 2:32, faster than before but not 2 minutes or under yet.
We are getting these cards now and every Monday will be a day to assess skills and if you pass you get the card initialed and once you've completed all of them you get moved up to hitting group.
We don't know who got in to hitting group or anything until Tuesday night.
We now have a schedule for our practices though and i'm getting really busy so I probably won't be able to post very often. Hopefully at least once a week.
Our schedule is:
Monday-Basic Skills/Assessment
Tuesday- Endurance
Thursday- Conditioning/Hitting Group
Sunday-Hitting Group/basic skills

Great American Clean Up

Today I woke up at 8am to get ready to leave to go help the girls down on the southside.
We had a roller derby event to help out with the Peoria Clean Up, as volunteers.
We started at 9am, we saw some interesting things.
Spoons, forks, lots of cigarette butts, pliars, broken glass and lots of beer caps.
We also saw a woman get out of a car, kiss the driver, then go inside where another guy was with her baby. The two of them kept openning up the door to watch us with these scornful looks and then he called her stupid for openning up the door.

Then, a little boy with a toy vaccume cleaner followed us, talking to himself.

We had to pack up our studio's today, so I cleaned my room yesterday.

Today we had a show at Ci, our last one.
We shut our doors for the last official time.
I have mixed feelings about it but, whatever.

Life in the Fast lane

Well, lately my home life has been getting even worse.
Yay me?
Alec and I are trying to get a car fixed up so we can drive and then get a place.
Potentially at the Murray building.
We had our open skate yesterday, it was fun, but at first I was really psyched out for some reason.
I get to reserve my derby name Thursday.
I'm going to buy new wheels so I can skate outside.

I'm trying to get on the next hitting group which will be 4/25, a Sunday.
I have to work on, basic skills, speed, crossovers, stability, and no flailing. (Those are the things she said she'd be looking for in her next hitting group).
I have another interview at Lakeview Museum, they want me to do a bunch of writing for them as well as hanging art.
I have to show them writing samples at my next interview 4/23.
I'm applying for two jobs at ICC, one as an Arts/entertainment editor and the other for The Studio, a writing help lab.
I also want to enter into an art show this week here on campus.
Tomorrow is the Three year for me and Alec.
The Internship at lakeview has a dress code. No sneakers, dress semi professionally etc.
So, I need to get new shoes.
I'm also going to be making a black bag with bat print inside as well as a white no sleeve long cardigan with black splatters.
I really love these shoes, but I can't find them, and I love her shirt.

I envision wearing them with fishnets or lace tights.

Anyone care to help me find these shoes?

Salon du Vintage - Paris

Si vous êtes à Paris ce samedi ou dimanche (10h à 21h00), vous pouvez aller faire un tour au "Salon du Vintage"

au 39 rue des Francs Bourgeois dans le 4ème. Des vêtements des meubles, des objets, des photos, des vespas
et des fiat 500. Des jolies choses et du tout venant. J'ai bien aimé les belless robes américaines des années 50
chez Bastien de Almeida au 1er étage et les créations de fauteils-uniques.fr au rez de chaussée.
A l'extérieur des fiat 500 et des scooters Vespa vintage ou neuves construites désormais sous licence en Inde
sous la marque LML. Dommage que l'entrée soit payante pour avoir le droit d'acheter (7€ je crois). Mais comme
l'endroit est petit, seul les gens vraiment intéressés se rendront au salon. Les prix sont quand même à la hauteur
de la clientèle visée, les Bobos. On retrouve d'ailleurs les mêmes "meubles industriels" et les pendules électriques
que dans les brocantes du 9ème.
